Review of NHW Status in Chalfont StPeter

Alert message sent 14/06/2017 16:13:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network

Good Afternoon

With your help I would like to review the current status of NHW schemes in our village. This will enable us to see clearly where gaps exist so we can try to fill them. NHW works best where there is 'blanket' coverage - each scheme reinforcing its neighbours. I see that the Alert database has a lot of room to improve the information we hold. There also is a need to clarify areas covered.

To set things moving, it would really help if you let me know - ideally within the next 2 weeks or so:
- do you have your own sign-in access to the Alert database?
- What is the scheme you run (or help to run) called?
- When (approx) did your scheme start?
- How many (approx) households does your scheme cover?
- How many (active) members are in your scheme? (i.e. on your own database)
- How would you describe the current status of your scheme from the following list:
     - Very active (usually weekly contact with members)
     - Fairly active ( ditto - monthly)
     - Not very active (roughly Quarterly)
     - Hardly active ( 6 - 12 monthly)
     - No longer active.

Once we have this up-to-date picture of the status of NHW in the village, I will suggest an informal Coordinators meeting to chat about the ways we can all work together to improve things.

Many thanks in advance for your input and cooperation.

Best wishes

David Alder
Area Coordinator
